Introduction

Quality is "Fitness to a Purpose". If a software application or product does not consistently fit the purpose for which it has been developed because of errors, flaws or bugs, the results can be catastrophic. Today businesses are coping up with the challenge of reducing cost of software development and maintenance in order to compete globally. End users have become less tolerant to software glitches.
